I spent a good portion of the morning making Belgian waffles. I was hand-beating the egg whites and complained about my arm hurting to Liesel, my sous chef. She proceeded to stick a strawberry in my mouth, proclaim that it would give me energy and then I quite about whether I now felt better

Blythe is now 1 as well. She is not quite waking, but loves to wave, blow kisses, and crawl on any unsuspecting floor-loungers who might be around.

We also have been biking to all our nearby parks. We found a great one north of our church. Tennis courts and a BBQ pit and lots of grass and a playground.

Locke performed the Beauty and the Beast operetta with his kindergarten class today. Five and six year olds singing and dancing. Hilarious and delightful. I pretty much laughed the whole time. He was in the wolf dance and his line was “The rose she offered was an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st birthday.” He delivered it with Locke-esque precision and clarity.

Pretty sure Blythe has chosen “banana” as her first word. Simply adorable.

We are settling in nicely to our new little home. I am working on staining some
Mirror frames for our bathroom, hanging shelves over the washer and dryer, and hanging giant cork boards in my office. Many other good home projects.

Locke is performing in an operetta for kindergarten in Thursday. Obviously. Beauty and the Beast. I went with him to a mother/son Star Wars event at his school last week. He’s a stud.

Liesel is cuddling a lot lately. And learning all her letters. Go Fish with letter flash cards has been her game of choice.
